“Trunk’d” is a road-trip comedy involving four men driving from Nebraska to Texas to dispose of the body of a dead call girl whom they find unresponsive the morning after a bachelor party.
The film was shot over a period of fifteen days during June and July 2010 in counties across Southeastern Nebraska. Actors in Trunk’d include an impressive roster of nationally known comedians and up and coming talent.
Chicago actor Kevin Zaideman follows up his lead role in the Nazi Zombie horror short “A Chance In Hell”. Zaideman has starred in several independent films and won awards for his performance in the TV series “One Fine Day”. Kevin plays ADAM, the groom who wakes up next to a lifeless stranger on the morning of his bachelor party.
Dan Cummins comes to the set fresh from the premiere of his Comedy Central special “Dan Cummins: Crazy with a Capital F”. He has appeared on “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien”, “Last Comic Standing”, and several other Comedy Central specials. Dan plays PAUL, the older brother of Adam and chronic scapegoat for the bachelors.
James Adomian (Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay) is a nationally known comedian famous for his George W Bush impersonations. He also has done impersonations of Lewis Black, John McCain, and Orson Welles for FunnyOrDie.com. His character in TRUNK’D is named DEAN THE PROCESSOR.
Eddie Pepitone is a veteran comedic actor who has appeared on countless television shows including WEEDS, THE CONAN O’BRIEN SHOW, and most recently NBC’s WHITNEY. Pepitone plays the role of RANDY, mayor of the bachelor’s small Nebraska town and father of the bride to be.
Shang Forbes is a native New Yorker, a comedian, actor, and poet who has performed on stages across the country. He has appeared in roles on television show such as Heroes, CSI, and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Shang brings a devoted fanbase and a healthy dose of edgy standup energy to the set in the role of JOE THE PIMP.
Other cast members include Omaha comedian Austin Anderson as JESSE, Nebraska actor Mike Leamen as ROB, and Nebraska State Senator Colby Coash as JIM.
The screenplay is the second feature film written by Hull, with revisions by Trevor Snell (Vipers in the Grass) and Tony Wash (It’s My Party and I’ll Die If I Want To). The film is being financed by Hoppe Films and Knuth Enterprises, with additional support from Hoppe Films. Line Producer Jenna Edwards brings a wealth of film production experience to the project from her experiences working on the films “April Showers” and “In The Darkness”.
Director of Photography Rhett McClure shot the film on the RED ONE digital cinema camera with help from Rob ‘Skippy’ Wiliams and Paul “Tiny” Rogers. Steadicam and stunt footage was shot on the Canon MKII 5D. AB Productions aims to finish postproduction on the film in time for submission to film festivals and consideration for national and online distribution.
Local nonprofit film organizations Nebraska Independent Film Projects and the Nebraska Film Group- Omaha have helped provide preproduction and audition assistance to the production.
